Picking Out Costumes

My daughter wanted to be Sponge Bob for Halloween this year.  She wouldn't budge.  Besides the fact that I didn't want my daughter to be HIM for Halloween, there were the 2 additional issues that...
1.  I wasn't going to pay $40 for the costume.
2.  A handmade one would be bulky and difficult to play around in.

I ended up buying her very feminine Sponge Bob pajamas and told her that was her costume.  So this morning when Timothy was getting all of his Luigi gear on, she said, "I want to be Kiki from the Fresh Beat band!"  That's a new show on Nick that's super cute.

Well, I had 30 minutes to find something to make her look like Kiki, and while she doesn't really look like Kiki, she BELIEVED she was Kiki!  And that's what matters right?  She was so excited she could barely speak!

How did you do her hair? You are right - all that matters is that SHE believed she looked like Kiki.

Yes, that's what matters! That and that you are one flexible Mom!

Cute! She looks like she is happily in her own little world.

Two years ago my daughter decided to be a pink power ranger after her younger brother picked out a black power ranger costume. Up until that moment she was going to be a fairy. It wasn't my first choice but I went along with it. She had no regrets and she did finally dress as a fairy this year (two years later).
