Aloha Friday: Vacation

Kailani of An Island Life writes...In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I just got back from visiting Dan in Kailani's fair state of Hawaii! In the original "schedule," Dan's ship was never supposed to go there, so when they added Hawaii as a port stop (just 3 weeks before it was pulling in), we jumped at the chance! I flew my mom out from Texas to stay with the kids, and I went to HI for the most amazing time. It couldn't have been more perfect. I got back Wed morning and have had one year end event after another, so I'm just now coming up for air! Pictures and stories will be forthcoming, but the obvious Aloha Friday question of the week is...
What is the best vacation you've been on and why?

I have been thinking about you all week!! I can't wait to see pictures and hear all about Hawaii!!!

I've had a lot of great vacations. But my favorites are:

Before Kids: we took 2 trips to Malaysia & Singapore (only on 1 trip). Seeing the culture, trying the food, and snorkling was amazing!!

With Kids: the trip we took last year to New Hampshire. We hiked, saw numerous waterfalls, and rode a real train. It was so amazing I think I took about 5-6 posts to talk about it all last May/June. :)

I have not been able to take a vacation in so long I can't even remember!

Vacationing with 3 little boys doesn't look close to anything I thought a vacation was even a few short years ago! The year before Noah, we took an extended vacation to St. Augustine, Florida, with the Joneses and then on to Fort Pierce, Miami, and Key West, Florida with my dad. I really love traveling down Hwy 1! Jimmy drug Brooke and I to NASA too.

Does this mean Dan will be home sooner than later? He seems so close now!
