Timothy was getting belligerent so Dan gave a warning that he would take the Wii away. Timothy said, "No you will not!" Dan, very calmly (I don't know how he did it) said, "Are you big enough to stop me?" Timothy wouldn't answer. There was a 5-10 minute power struggle until Timothy finally bent his will to Dan's, admitting that he was not big enough to stop his dad. Once Timothy finally admitted it, Dan said, "And that's okay because God, my Heavenly Father, is bigger than I am and it's important that Daddy admits that, too!"
It does this momma good to hear those kinds of conversations coming from the living room.

Why us placing emphasis on physical strength, power and size a good idea? What's wrong with reason and cooperation? Isn't it troubling where this kind of reasoning places women in relationship to men? After all, most women are not "big enough " to have a say, if that is the primary criterion.
Way to go Dan for seeing the heart issue of submitting to authority! It's a hard lesson to learn.
