I told you I would start naming them! Samantha woke up at 12:30 last night (this morning), and of course Dan was on duty. The first night she wakes up in the middle of the night, I'm alone! And I didn't get back to sleep until 2:30. Ouch. Can I just say I am out of it today? And this is MOPS/school/AWANA day. I was given very good advice a few days ago to start my day saying, "Something good is going to happen today." I've done it every day since I was told, and some really fun things have popped up. I keep repeating that to myself this morning through my blurry haze!
Somehow she still woke up at 7:15 this morning. That's regular time after missing 2 hours of sleep in the night and a 3 hour nap yesterday. I'm hoping that this will set her up pretty well to take her nap today.

Ahhh big girl beds.... my little sassy has made it hard on me too! We told Bowden that if he got out of bed he would get a swat and he got out of bed twice and got a swat both times (mean mommy) and never got out again. this was all well and good until we potty trained him and then he would lay in bed screaming "I have to go potty". We told him, about a million times, that he could get up to go to the bathroom but no luck.
So when Evynn moved to a big bed, we did not make the same mistake. She is like a jack in the box, and now that Bowden hears her get out of bed and not get a swat he gets up too!!!! Except when he has to go potty - then he still lays in bed screaming.... some how I am certain that I have messed up all the way around!!!
oh my!! little stinker!! i hope you get some sleep tonight!
For some reason my kids rarely sleep in either. You have my sympathies. I'm with Natasha. A swat on the tush always helps my munchkins remember to stay put. = )
No matter WHAT time they go to bed, how often they wake up, etc, my kids' eyes pop open before the buttcrack of dawn.
I have friends with teenagers who promise me some day they will sleep all day....oh. I cannot wait.
And, I have given swat after swat after swat. Sometimes it works. Sometimes-not even a little bit.
