CF Eating Question

Okay, CFers and CF Moms,

I need help with Samantha's meals. She constantly wants food. So...
  1. Does her tummy really feel hungry because of a high metabolism or is she just bored?
  2. For weight gain, is it best for me to try to make her wait a period of time or just get absolutely every calorie in her all day long that I can?
  3. If I do need to try to make her wait, as a 3-yr old CF-er what should the length of time be?
Help!!!

It all depends if she has trouble gaining weight or not. If she had trouble, feed her any time she wants food plus times that she doesn't. If she doesn't have trouble, treat her like any other normal 3 year old out there.

IMO of course.

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I needed to know. Samantha is nearing 40th percentile (heading up) for I believe only the 2nd time in her life (I would have to check my records). It has been a constant struggle, and I think what I have to realize is that I can't stop just as we are starting to win the battle. I think we're winning because she's now wanting more than she's wanted in a long time and she hasn't been sick in a few months, which always makes her appetite drop off quickly! I would hate to see us lose any ground just because I feel this internal pressure to keep her on 3 square meals a day.

Helps a bunch!
